About Holstein Friesian

Indigenous to the Netherlands, the Holstein Friesian breed of dairy cattle are known to be the world's highest milk producers. They bear the characteristic black and white color piebald pattern, with few variants exhibiting red and white, or blue and white colors. A healthy Holstein Friesian calf weighs roughly 50kgs at birth and an adult cow can weigh about 750kgs. Their natural gestation period is about 9 months, and their milk is rich in both A1 and A2 beta casein. Holstein Friesian cows are generally good-natured, are social and exhibit herd mentality.
