Our Process

The secret to running a successful dairy farm: Love thy cows

The process of dairy farming flows through 5 simple, yet important steps

Step 1 - Rearing

Rearing cows is a gratifying experience. We raise our cows humanely, with care and affection. The cows are allowed to graze the paddocks of our farm freely, soak in the sunlight, consume clean/fresh water, ruminate, chew their cud, and sleep at will. We do NOT use any artificial growth hormones or other agents to boost milk production.

Step 2 - Harvesting

Cows are normally milked at least twice each day. Each cow is first examined, and their udders are thoroughly cleaned in preparing for milking. Milking is usually done through automated machines (which mimic the action of a young calf suckling on the udders), into closed containers to avoid contamination. The milking process generally takes about five to ten minutes per cow.

Step 3 - Storing

The collected milk is stored in stainless steel, chilled vats or silos for no more than 24 hours. In this period, milk is constantly, but gently agitated to ensure that the milkfat does not separate from the milk. Since we locally process & package our milk, there is no transport involved.

Step 4 - Processing

In fulfilling our promise of delivering fresh milk, we only perform the most essential processing steps. Whole milk that is collected from the cows is gently pasteurized and homogenized to ensure its purity and integrity. We also routinely test our milk in a lab to ensure that the milk processing is done hygienically, and that the quality of our product is maintained.

Step 5 - Packaging & Delivery

The milk then is bottled and sealed by the automatic packaging machine. Each bottle is date/time stamped to indicate its shelf life. Our delivery team then collects the bottled milk and delivers it right to your doorstep. Our delivery trucks are refrigerated and maintain the milk in a chilled state till delivery.
